CultchaSound is a Washington, D.C. based REGGAE sound system owned, managed and operated by brothers, DJ Cultcha and Fadah TG.

CultchaSound touts a lengthy resume that includes: performances at the legendary Bowery Ballroom in N.Y.C. and 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.; long-standing residencies at ESL (Eighteenth Street Lounge) and Patty Boom Boom in Washington, D.C.; international performances in Africa and Central America; countless radio appearances; and high profile events such as; the Soul Rebel Exhibition of Bob Marley photographs at the Govinda Gallery.

CultchaSound harnesses key elements as a sound; unique selections, a smooth juggling style, blending old and new school riddims, and leveraging a comprehensive catalogue of classic dubplates.

The CultchaSound vision is a simple one – to share their passion of conscious reggae music with the world. During a dubplate recording session early in the Sound’s history, legendary artist Sizzla Kalonji christened CultchaSound “the conscious sound, the righteous sound” based on the Sound’s stylistic emphasis on conscious and righteous reggae music. The tagline has stuck and so too has the music, energy, and vibes of the Sound.
